It should’ve happened… multiple hits, a massive

career, world recognition and hey, how about

the money?

He’s dead now… he should’ve got his money. Keith

McCormack got his start in poverty, in Plainview,

Texas with an aunt-purchased $14 Regal guitar.

Along with his lifelong buddy Aubrey deCordova

they were the Rock’n’Rollers them the Leen Teens and when the legendary Norman Petty  (Buddy Holly

producer) got his hands on them they were the String-A-Longs.

Keith was their vocalists; sounded something like Elvis, he said. Three failed singles were issued before

Keith showed up at the studio with a sore throat; unable to sing. Not wasting any studio time to instru-

mentals were cut. One,“Wheels,” was to become their life-only big hit; top 10 near worldwide. It was soft

rock with stiletto picking style. Give a listen.
